Saed Al-Nour's latest novel "Desirable Glance" is an exceptional portrayal of events. The plot takes place in a far away place; yet it can be anywhere for those who can see themselves in his characters. Nour Al-Din, our hero, is struggling to make sense of unimaginable circumstances that befell his country under its current political drama. The agony of living under such conditions is whether to take action by confronting authorities and consequently face death or stay quiet and eventually also die by a decree. The novel is written with an eloquent style and its brilliancy lies in the explanation of how, why, and what motives govern the decision making process.
